Sea Wheels, Inc., is a Marine Consulting firm with nearly 100 years of salt-water, deep-draft experience at hand. We are CCR registered.
Based in Farmville, North Carolina, we provide a multitude of services, world-wide, in areas such as accident investigation, vessel delivery (any tonnage), vessel surveying, shiphandling training, ocean survey, consulting on underway replenishment of U.S. Navy ships. We also provide design assistance, logistics advice, safety programs and much, much more.
Sea Wheels was formed in July of 1983, with the primary purpose of investigating the feasiblity of ferry operations on the east coast of the U.S., and are presently involved in these studies. We have additional representatives in Norfolk, Virginia, and Cocoa, Florida.

Captain Al Hunt, Sea Wheels' President, has forty years of experience at sea . In his years of sea service he has performed, or been involved in, nearly all aspects of shipboard operations. Joining the Navy in July of 1959, he has served on, or been Captain of, nearly every kind of vessel from small craft to Underway Replenishment ships. He retired from Military Sealift Command in June of 1999 after 40 years at sea, the last 14 of which he sailed as Captain of Underway Replenishers(T-AO/T-AF), Towing and Salvage (T-ATF's) ships, Survey and Surveillance ships(T-AGOS). He has been able to establish a strong background of knowledge in many areas, with a total of nine years as Unrep Master. |

All of our consultants are licensed, current, Merchant Marine Officers with years of recent U.S. Navy and/or Military Sealift Command Underway Replenishment experience. They personify the finest and most well-informed of today's Merchant Marine force and are experts in their fields.
As a means of widening the shore-side areas of their knowledge, most have also served as Port Captains, Port Supply Officers and Port Engineers.
Our cargo people have moved, loaded, stowed and transferred at sea, hundreds of thousands of tons of dry cargo and millions of barrels of liquid cargo. Our engineers are versatile and up to date with the "state-of -the-art" computerization and design. Our Supply and Cargo personnel have been trained in depth at weapons handling, and most have done so in war zones.
